John R. Kuck, President

John Kuck (pronounced Cook) has been involved in aviation for more than 40 years and has over 8,000 flight hours.  He is a certified flight instructor, Instrument flight instructor, and multi-engine flight instructor.  John has been recognized by the FAA as being an outstanding aviator and is a former Designated Pilot Examiner with responsibilities of screening all pilot applicants and judging their proficiencies for initial and additional ratings.

John operated a flight school for over 7 years in Maryland. During that time he held the positions of Vice President and General Manager, Chief Pilot Part 135 (Single Pilot IFR), and Chief Flight Instructor Part 141.  He also managed the Veterans Administration (VA) GI Bill flight-training program, and the USAF ROTC flight screening programs at several campuses.  During his aviation career, John was one of the chief managers for NOS, the government agency who was responsible for all aviation mapping in the United States.

One of his major accomplishments at this agency was the conception research, formatting writing, and eventual publication of the Airport/Facility Directory for all civilian airports in the U.S.While working as the Advanced Instrument Program Manager at Randolph AFB, he initiated a program that would put the minimum obstruction clearance altitude (ORCA) on low altitude enroute charts.  John retired from the US Government after 30 years of faithful service in 1994.
